Pink Shoes For Bush
Give it up for the ladies at Code Pink, the women's anti-Iraq war group. They have a good imagination, and today they'll put it to use again in Washington, D.C.
A couple of days after that Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at President Bush, the Code Pinkies will be outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue waving their own shoes.
11 a.m. SHOE PROTEST -- Code Pink activists will protest outside of the White House with shoes to protest the war in Iraq.
That oughta generate a few good pictures.
Whether you like them or not, the Code Pinkers have shown some dogged determination over the past few years here on Capitol Hill.
They've been hauled out of committee hearings, they tried to make a citizens arrest of President Bush's former aide Karl Rove and protested at just about any place they could over the past few years.
One of the best scenes that I personally witnessed was down in the basment of one of the Senate Office Buildings, a group of Code Pinks stood where Senators walked by on their way to the Capitol.
If the Senator opposed the Iraq War, they would cheer. If the Senator was for it, they would heckle the living daylights out of that person.
So today they'll chalk up another one on their roster of events, waving shoes at President Bush.
One thing is for sure. He won't have to duck today.
