The Obama Citizenship Conspiracy, Part 3
My email inbox is still smoldering from my blogs the last two days on the Conspiracy Theory that Barack Obama is not a US citizen. So, let's do it again.
First, we should talk about the real news that occurred on Wednesday, as Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy rejected two more emergency requests to have the High Court stay the results of the Presidential election.
That now means the Justices have rejected such appeals seven different times in the last six weeks.
Remember, this is the Supreme Court which has seven people nominated by Republican Presidents and two by Democrats.

Berg is sort of the point man for much of this, garnering a lot of publicity along the way. So far though, the Judicial Branch of government hasn't given him much hope.
Now let's get back to all those juicy blog comments over the last two days on this subject!
Rufus took one of the first shots, "Who cares about Obama's birth certificate, we all know who Jamie voted for."
Oh, Rufus, you obviously don't listen very carefully, or you would know that I don't vote for President, all so I don't have to lie when you accuse me of voting for one candidate or the other.
There there was Lee G., who jabbed at my lack of effort on verifying what's up with Obama's birth certificate, "Jamie, as a reporter, why would you ever take the word of a government employee at face value?"
Since I've only been to Honolulu once and won't be going back anytime soon, I searched around and found some colleagues who have been. So here's what FactCheck.org found.

I know that's not going to convince most of you who already believe that Obama was born in Kenya and then jetted to Hawaii a few days later to get a birth certificate because everyone knew he was going to run for President later in life.
So here was something else I stumbled on. Heck, someone out there found a copy of the Honolulu newspaper from August of 1961, which announces his birth.
The operative nut from this guy who did some research was, "in 1961 these (birth) announcements came directly from the Vital Statistics Office as reported by local hospitals, according to the researcher who found this information."
Oh I know, all of that could be faked as well...no one has the real copy of the newspaper...it's all part of the conspiracy, etc. Sheesh, this Obama Citizenship Conspiracy keeps getting bigger and bigger every day!
Maybe we'll find out the Democratic Party in 1961 paid for his mom's plane flight from Kenya to Hawaii to get that birth certificate filed. Anyone got some good inside links to the airlines so we could check the flight manifests?
Now, Obama is heading back to Hawaii in coming days. Could it be that he's going there to further the conspiracy???? (Cue the ominous music NOW.)

Now there's one that I actually have gotten in emails, people saying that Obama rubbed out his grandmother before the elections, so that she wouldn't spill the beans on his birthplace.

In April 2008, the 2nd session of the 110th Congress drafted S. Res 511
which was agreed to in the Senate by Unanimous Consent recognizing that
John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.
Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama were co-sponsors of
this resolution.
In the 8th clause of SRes 511 it states:
Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an
American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936: Now, therefore,

This passage clearly recognized that natural born citizen entails birth
to "American citizens" (plural: two) and also the resolution previously
argues that it involves birth on U.S. territory. These are the two
requirements of being natural born: birth on U.S. soil and birth to TWO
U.S. citizens.
These Senators, of which Barack Obama is conspicuously noted as a
co-sponsor of this resolution, were required to take an Oath of Office
which involves the following:
The Senate Oath of Office:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the
Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and
domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I
take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose
of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of
the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Bottom line is the 8th clause of SRes 511 as UNANIMOUSLY recognized by
Congress, to be 1) an implicit recognition of the definition of natural
born citizen and 2) the recognition of the vote of the Electoral College
for Barack Obama, represents the deliberate subversion of the United
States Constitution, given the fact that Obama was known to be born with
British citizenship, his father being a British citizen of Kenya.

The requirements of President under Article II are not optional.
Two Supreme Court Cases address the definition of "natural born
citizen", required under Article II: Wong Kim Ark and Minor v Happersett.
Justice Gray quotes Minor v Happersett in his opinion of Wong Kim Ark:
ËœAt common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the
constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born
in a country, of parents who were its citizens, became themselves, upon
their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens,
as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further,
and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction, without
reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there
have been doubts, but never as to the first.
"Natives" in the above reference is to someone "wholly native", or
having no other allegiance upon birth, and not "native born", or mere
birth on U.S. soil.
This definition is taken virtually verbatim from de Vattel's "Laws of
Nations" which was the primary reference used by the founders in
drafting the Constitution:
§ 212. Citizens and natives.
"The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this
society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally
participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens,

- why not produce the actual document?I dont see the problem with the idea that the president-elect should have to produce the actual documents for people to verify that he is in fact a "natural born citizen"? Why is this a bad thing? People making conjecture should not be doing so either.
I know there is debate of the "Natural born citizen" definition but at the very least the Birth Certificate(actual) should be available to "the peoples" eyes.
Hell I couldnt get my social security card replaces with a photo copy of my birth certificate. No law or statute can change the meaning of "natural born Citizen" within the context of the Constitution.
If a law or statute tries to change or define that term, such a law could only apply to other Federal Law, not to the Constitution, as Congress has no authority to alter the Constitution through legislation.
We have to have the Supreme Court interpret what the meaning of "natural born Citizen" is within the context of the Constitution, and so far, they steadfastly refuse to do so. - Smug righteousnessInteresting how Boortz, whom you link to, preaches check the facts. When people do, if Boortz has already made up his mind, then they are idiots.
Read the fact check document. There are some salient points it does not address, nor do you.
1) Why is it that Fact Check.org, which has a record of deceit in some of its fact checking (see gun control)seems to be the final arbiter of this debate. I recall the first place the document was produced was Daily Kos, a left wing site.
As a citizen, I guess I am astounded that the very federal government Obama has so much faith in is not required to certify the eligibility of the president. Sorry, we have seen that layers of redundancy should exist when it comes to government...if a governor of a state is selling Senate seats for cash, who knows what a lesser state official should do.
2) This is not a birth certificate, it is a certificate of live birth. The actual birth certificate, which is what people want to see, and which contains the information such as the hospital, physician, etc, has not been produced. Obama is not applying for a passport, he won as president. Standards should be higher. What is the big deal about releasing the actual birth certificate?
3) You do not address the issue of these certificates issued for foreign born infants on demand by Hawaii at that time. Several sources have stated that Hawaii issued certificates of live birth for documentation for foreign born infants of a US citizen. Just because his name was listed in a paper does not mean he was born in Hawaii if this was the practice, as birth announcements could probably be placed by parents as well as hospital, or obtained by paper if a certificate of live birth for a foreign born infant was issued.
4) What is the arrogance of a president who will simply not release the source document to the citizens who elect him. Nobody is above the law, and you have not delved into why Obama has apparently spent over a million dollars to block a reasonable request to see the original source documentation. Why is it several hundred thousand citizens, if not several million, are being unreasonable when all he has to do is release the source documentation?
5) Finally, your lack of respect and goading of people who have questions yet unanswered is unbecoming and rude. You sound like, well, Obama. - Address something worthwhileJamie,
When are you going to address the Supreme Court rulings regarding the definition of "natural born citizen" meaning a person born to TWO parents that are citizens of the United States??? Clearly 2 parents who are citizens.
Therefore even if Obama was born on US soil, he still would NOT qualify, as 1 parent was NOT a citizen of this country. This is the self evident part.
Obama himself has stated, posted, about his dual citizenship.

That being said. All of this is a bunch of hooey. Get over it. I voted for the other guy, but Obama won. And now we need to support him... Fight on the things we dont agree on. But support the president until we have specific reasons not to. - B.OIf the perception is there and perception is 99% reality, maybe this is something, the courts will figure it out. There are a lot of people who do not like the President-elect but there are about 53% who do. Move on people, we have bigger problems.
