"Kill The Bill"

Organizers should be very pleased with the turnout at Thursday's health care rally on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, as thousands demanded that the Congress block a Democratic health reform bill in Congress.

Republican lawmakers paraded before the crowd on a gorgeous Fall day, with the simple message, "Kill the Bill."

"We're not going to leave this Hill, until we kill this bill!" thundered Rep. Steve King (R-IA).

As you can see from the back of the crowd, it wasn't a small turnout. I won't even try to give you an estimate, because someone will accuse me of making it too big or too small.

But it was definitely a good sized turnout for a workday.

Inside the Capitol, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said today she will have the votes to pass health care reform. A vote is tentatively set for Saturday.

Will be very interesting. A lot of our 'representatives' are out of touch.

This isn't health care reform. It's a colossal boondoggle in the making. A gift to the trial lawyers and big pharm. At the expense of those who thought they could count on medicare.

    That's some kind of 'change'!!!

The slackers don't have jobs or left their employers in the lurch, they should be at work or be looking for a job. Of course there was a bigger turn out for a rally on a weekend you never covered Jamie, hmm.
  • Jefferson on healthcare reform
"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
