| The following are rules from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources'
Environmental Protection Division (EPD) for outdoor water usage as different
declared levels.
Outdoor Water Use Schedule During Non-Drought Periods
- For addresses ending in odd numbers, use is allowed on Tuesdays,
Thursday and Sundays.
- For addresses ending in even numbers, use is allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Saturdays.
Outdoor Water Use Schedule During Declared Drought Response Level One
- Outdoor water use may occur on scheduled days from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m.
- Scheduled days for odd- and even-numbered addresses are the same as for during
non-drought periods.
- Use of hydrants is only allowed for firefighting, public health, safety or
flushing.
Outdoor Water Use Schedule During Declared Drought Response Level Two
- Outdoor water use may occur on scheduled days from midnight and 10 a.m.
- Scheduled days for odd-numbered and even-numbered addresses are the same as
for Level One. Golf course fairways follow the same days as even-numbered
addresses.
- Use of hydrants is only allowed for firefighting, public health, safety or
flushing.
- Washing hard surfaces, such as streets, gutters, sidewalks and driveways,
except when necessary for public health and safety, is prohibited.
Outdoor Water Use Schedule During Declared Drought Response Level Three
- Outdoor water use may occur on scheduled days from midnight at 10 a.m.
- Odd-numbered addresses may use water outdoors on Sundays.
- Even-numbered addresses and golf course fairways may use water outdoors on
Saturdays.
- Use of hydrants is only allowed for firefighting, public health, safety or
flushing.
- Washing hard surfaces, such as streets, gutters, sidewalks and driveways,
except when necessary for public health and safety, is prohibited.
- Filling installed swimming pools, except when necessary for health care or
structural integrity, is prohibited.
- Washing vehicles, such as cars, boats, trailers, motorbikes, airplanes and
golf carts, is prohibited.
- Washing buildings or structures, except for immediate fire protection, is
prohibited.
- Non-commercial fundraisers, such as car washes, are prohibited.
- Using water for ornamental purposes, such as fountains, reflecting pools and
waterfalls, except when necessary to support aquatic life, is prohibited.
Outdoor Water Use Schedule During Declared Drought Response Level Four
- No outdoor water usage is allowed, other than for activities exempted by the
EPD or as the EPD director may order.
