Scott, I heard you talking on the air with Neal this week. It was good to hear your voice again. You are missed. You commented on learning to get around on crutches and a walker. If your doctor will allow, you should look into using a Knee Walker. If the surgery to place the rod has not limited your ability to kneel, a knee walker offers great mobility. If you've never seen one, just google "knee walker". Some are large and cumbersome, but there are some nice streamlined models out there. I first saw them at an Army Hospital, and the soldiers really appreciated the mobility the knee walker afforded them. But I don't think it will work too well on the hill to the barn !! Get well soon.

Gee, Scott, when they told you to make a station break, they didn't exactly mean a compound fracture. However, I told the NAB and you may win your THIRD Marconi based on this performance. I held your 'morning' position at WSB for a number of years in late 40's and 50's. Getting up at 3:00 AM took all the fun out of it. So enjoy this 'break' from the routine while you can!!!

So sorry to hear of your troubles. I heard you were on your way to take care of your horses when the accident happened. I had a fall on the ice last week in our pasture and I feel your pain---my pain, though, is from landing on my fanny. Hope your surgery goes great and recovery is quick.

Use the remote control as much as you want- you could watch 5 soap operas at one time!

Mr. Slade, I suffered a pretty severe upper arm break a year and a half ago. It's a long road to recovery but if you do EXACTLY as the doctor's say, you'll be fine! Good luck and get well!
