My name is Jonathan H. I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease SS at 2-months-old. I was placed on Folic Acid and Penicillin at the age of 2-year-old then placed on Hydroxeurea at age 11. I have been a patient at the Aflac Cancer Center since I was 2-years-old. Once every two months, I visit the Aflac Cancer Center or sometimes more if I have a Sickle Cell Crisis.

I favor all my doctors...Doctor Herry and Dr. B is my most favored, my favorite nurse is Mrs. Elizabeth. My favorite thing about the Aflac Cancer Center is that the people are kind and always care for you, from the Receptionists to the lab Technicians and the Clowns that come from time to time. My personal interests are drawing, playing video games, watching TV. talking on the phone, getting on the computer and recently exercising. When I'm underestimated because of my diagnosis, I like to prove people wrong and show them I can do anything when I put my mind to it.

The journey with Sickle Cell Disease has taught me that I should try to be grateful, try to enjoy each moment when I feel good, and try to be more responsible, and that anything is possible with Jesus, prayer and practice.
