Kennedy was diagnosed with ALL (a form of leukemia) on April 29, 2007. She has 6 more months of intensive therapy, and then she will have 20 more months of maintenance chemotherapy. This has been the shock of our lives for our 3 year old to be diagnosed with cancer and see her life change dramatically. We have a long road ahead of us, but she does have an 85% chance of being cured—we are lucky! The Aflac Cancer Center is our new home away from home—we were there almost every day during one week due to Kennedy running a fever. There is no way we could say we have a favorite doctor or nurse, because they are all wonderful. Kennedy is so young that she still has some difficulty with them all due to her not understanding why they are always poking her. Dr. Lew is our doctor and Kennedy will actually talk to him, which is amazing. They are all great people.
