Kristen was diagnosed with leukemia on March 23, 2007, at the age of 3. We have spent 28 nights at the Aflac Cancer Center’s inpatient unit at Children’s at Scottish Rite and countless others at the clinic.

We are so thankful for our nurses, doctors, and all of the staff at Aflac Cancer Center clinic and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We are blessed to be on monthly visits now for I.V. chemo. and on daily medications at home. She will finish her treatments in June 2009.

Our plans are to help raise money and awareness to CURE all childhood cancers. We have wonderful family and friends who support us greatly. Now, we have a whole new family with Karen (our Child Life Specialist), Heather (our sedation nurse), Mary (Dr. B.’s Nurse), Kim (Dr. Lewis’ Nurse), all of the sweet nurses from infusion and of course Nikki, Sara, Jamie, and all of the girls on the Aflac Cancer Center floor at Scottish Rite.

Dr. August, Dr. Lew, and Dr. Bergsegal take excellent care of sweet Kristen. We have many new friends from clinic that we treasure also. Our lives are forever changed for the better.
