Raman was diagnosed with ALL leukemia in June 2006. He was three years old and we took him for his 3 year check-up. His hemoglobin was low and from there they sent us to Children’s where we were admitted. He was then diagnosed.

We started with chemotherapy once a week and now 2 years later we are on a once a month schedule. Raman’s doctor is Dr. Glen Lew and his favorite nurse is Heather McElvery. She is absolutely terrific and a family favorite!

Raman is a very even-tempered child. He has handled his therapy well…extremely well. He takes his doctors visits in stride and he enjoys singing for the staff when we go and playing doctor. If he could bring his guitar with him he would!

Raman’s biggest enjoyment is MUSIC! He loves all instruments and loves singing and dancing. He also loves food – talking about it, eating it, watching it on Food Network and helping to prepare it.

We were already a close family, so I can’t say this has made us closer but it certainly makes us cherish every moment with our children.
