Taylor is now a cancer free, beautiful blue eyed, 7 year old angel filled with an abundance of joy. Her great big spirit fills us with so much love and kindness. She is a very active and restless little girl who enjoys playing soccer, jazz and ballet, and has become quite the swimmer. She also loves to sing! Taylor is the kind of child that blows you away every time you see her with her sweet gestures and amazing smile. Taylor already has a strong relationship with God and a unique innocent childlike faith. Taylor was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor (a form of kidney cancer found in children) on Tuesday July 19, 2005. She had surgery 2 days later to remove the tumor and her left kidney. Taylor went through an intense 30 weeks of chemotherapy treatment as well as 11 radiation treatments. She was in great hands at the Aflac Cancer Center under the care of Dr. George and Dr. August. While in treatment she enjoyed having Karen, her Child Life Specialist, play with her and bring her activities and craft projects to keep her busy. Taylor also loves her two favorite nurses, Miss Olivia and Miss Erika. They understand what a special girl Taylor is and always worked through the rough visits with her at the Aflac Cancer Center clinic. Her last treatment was on March 10, 2006. Her port was removed on April 7, 2006. She is enjoying getting back to a normal, worry-free life of playing with friends and family. We now visit the Aflac Cancer Center every 3 months for CT scans and check-ups. We are forever grateful to everyone at the Aflac Cancer Center. They made the extremely difficult times easier for us.Listen to WSB's Sandra Parrish interview Taylor
