Introduction
          There is no doubt that we are in an economic recession and that we will be for quite some time. Even though the President and the Congress think they are helping the situation, your best help is what you can do that’s in your control. When the national economy improves, you will be in a much stronger position to succeed.

          A small business is defined in this instance as a business with 25 employees or less. This gives the business owner a unique opportunity to personally give all your people a “hug”, and all your customers a “hug”.

          A “hug” is simply a no cost way to make your people and your customers feel that they are appreciated. Studies have shown that employees appreciate a compliment at least once every seven days . A special thank you to your customers in between orders creates a memorable contact.

          Not all of these survival tips may be applicable to you and your business, just use the ones that you may not have thought about.

          These survival tips are also adaptable to bigger businesses, but they would require some creative modifications of one’s communications skills. At that point, I would have to charge you for that advice.
