DEADLINES APPROACH TO APPEAL YOUR PROPERTY APPRAISAL

The deadline for filing PROPERTY tax returns in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties is March 1. For Cobb, Fulton and Clayton counties the deadline is April 1.

The tax return is the first step toward adjusting what you pay in property taxes; your property may be valued at more than you can get for it on the market and you're paying taxes on value your home no longer has.

A record number of people are filing a little-known document called a tax return with their property appraiser's office, asking for a lower value on their appraisal, and thereby, a break on their property taxes.

GWINNETT COUNTY's appraiser expects a total of 15,000 to 20,000 and said he's hiring data workers to process all of the returns.

I've looked up the website for Gwinnett residents; as you can see, if you get your return postmarked today (March 1), it's on time. Google your own county for info and deadlines.

We had a lot of response to our segments on the new Malizia Clinic and the Georgia Healthcare Leadership Council.

HUGE YEAR FOR AIRSHOWS COMING UP IN METRO ATLANTA!


The US Navy Blue Angels have announced on their official website that they will be returning to Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA, Oct 16-17 2010, and the Canada Air Force Snowbirds are reputed to be on the same show, though they have not updated their official schedule yet.

The Great Georgia Air Show is one of the best regional airshows in the country and it will be back for the 13th year at Peachtree City, GA, Falcon Field Airport on Oct 9-10 2010. thegreatgeorgiaairshow.com .
