New Website Keeps You Informed On Loved Ones In The Hospital

(Newstalk 750 WSB-Sabrina Gibbons)

The website (Patientupdates.org) is the brainchild of Bill Watson in Largo, Florida. He came up with the idea after his brother, who was in San Diego was shot six times and was in intensive care. "Our cell phones were ringing off the hook," says executive director of Florida NPO Services, Inc. "I could not spend time with my brother, who we didn't know if he was going to make it or not." Watson called up his company at that point and put the wheels in motion.

Watson said the site is easy to use. Just type in the person's name. To create a name just follow the simple online instructions. For security Florida NPO requires a valid email address to activate the account. The company has 4 full time staffers and about a dozen freelancers.

Watson says this is an excellent way to keep up to date on the condition of loved ones in different states and the best part is it's free.
