Those of us who grew up listening to radio and especially WSB found a nice friend on 750 every time we heard Mike. Even before he created www.wsbhistory.com, you could just sense that Mike understood WSB is more than just a radio station to those of us who chose broadcasting as our profession. He epitomizes what a radio newscaster and communicator is all about. Even more satisfying to someone who never had the pleasure of meeting him is person... is to know he was also a great person away from the mic. In the future when I have a memory of The Voice of the South, I will hear in my mind..the voice of Mike Kavanagh.
