The Birth Certificate issue has been a red herring from the start. The news media has taken this to be the defining issue, including the talk radio folks and so won’t cover the real issue. This has been a good smoke screen. The real issue is whether or not he follows the Natural Born section of the Constitution and if it applies to Sen. Obama<br> Article. II.<br> Section. 1.<br> No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.<br> <br> The framers intent of the Constitution at the time the Constitution was being written/adopted:<br> Laws of Nations; <br> § 212. Citizens and natives. <br> The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights. The society is supposed to desire this, in consequence of what it owes to its own preservation; and it is presumed, as matter of course, that each citizen, on entering into society, reserves to his children the right of becoming members of it. The country of the fathers is therefore that of the children; and these become true citizens merely by their tacit consent. We shall soon see whether, on their coming to the years of discretion, they may renounce their right, and what they owe to the society in which they were born. I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country. <br> <br> Clearly 2 parents who are citizens. <br> <br> Therefore even if Obama was born on US soil, he still would NOT qualify, as 1 parent was NOT a citizen of this country. This is the self evident part.<br> <br> Obama himself has stated, posted, about his dual citizenship. <br> Quote "When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom's dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.'s children"<br> So Sen. Obama by his own admission would net qualify. Is there some ruling, law or statute that has changed the meaning of “Natural Born”?
