The term democracy and republic are NOT interchangable. I keep hearing these words used interchangably and it causes confusion for some. A pure democracy is the road to tyranny.<br> <br> The First time I remember noticing these words being used interchangably is about the time of the C. Thomas confirmation hearings. <br> <br> I realized years ago that this was no accident, this is "newspeak." Please try to change this habit. <br> <br> The pledge of allegiance is to "The Republic" not to the democracy. The flag will not stand if we don't stop this insurgent Democracy.
