the EIA estimate for greenhouse gasses for 2007 was 7,282.4 MMTCO2 equiv. They estimated this would decrease in 2008 by about 2% or say 7,137 MMTCO2equiv. At $20/ton this would "bring in" about $142,000,000,000, or $142 billion. Easily covers these early earmarks. And all that money comes from everyone consuming any energy. So expect your power bill to go up, expect the price of food to go up, expect the price of gas to go up and any product you buy that required energy to make, ie anything with metal or plastic in it, will also go up in price. Thank you representatives - not!
