I strongly disagree with the georgia state wide crct tests. My child has excellent grades all through the year, but then stresses out so bad about the year end test, that he barely passes them. Passing of each grade should be based on how well they've done in their classes all year long. How is it that the kids that have F's in some of their classes all year, then miraculously pass the crct , go on to the next grade? But those kids that worked hard and passed all year, have to spend half their summer vacation in summer school,when they have done what their suppose to do all year. Also the teachers only teach to the CRCT tests. The state needs to give them the opportunity to teach how THEY think the kids would learn, and let THEM give the a year end test. The pass or fail crct tests are ridiculous. Most states don't even have them. Try letting the teachers teach, and the kids learn during the school year, and we would see many more educated children.
