After a frame by frame analysis, there is no question of intention. At 0:14 seconds into the film, the catcher's knees are dropping while his face and glove hand remains in the strike zone. The ball is appx' 5 1/2 feet in the air and appx. 15 ft. in front of batter. The next 5 frames show catcher completely on knees with glove still in strike zone with head starting to move downward. Ball appears to glance slightly off of batter's helmet a full three feet above catcher who is now in a full blocking position with head and glove totally down with no visual acknowledgement of ball positioning at all. This kid's lower body half was dropping with ball well high and in front of the plate no question about it. The sun is also to the catcher,s back. I was also at the game and saw it live. As for the pro's hitting umps, there would be a heafty fine, game suspensions and possible banishment from baseball according to league rules for something as flagrant. One may have bias to this incident but please call it like it is. These guys need to learn right from wrong but please no jail time!
