I believe that Steve Emanuel is guilty. I knew him when he lived in Des Plaines. He would call up old girlfriends (while married) when he was visiting from Georgia and try to hook up with them. That isn't abuse, but it says a lot about his character. A decent person wouldn't do this to his wife and kids unless he thought he could get away with it.

I believe the girl. I was a molestation victim of his, as well when I was 13. And, for the record, I am a 40ish male from Illinois. I wish I wasn't afraid at the time t come forward. I also believed no one would have believed me. He ruined my life.

Concerning his court date, I don't think he's been indicted.

I've searched all I know to search to find something about your accusations in Chicago. Posters here have asked for any piece of information you can give to lead us to some facts, anything at all. I'm finding all of your mystery very suspicious. If you are writing "because of that girl", then give just one fact that could lead me to further information. If you're so certain, you should consider it your obligation to protect other children. Until that happens, I will have to go with "innocent until proven guilty".

I dont know if this was true but i go to creekland and my mom and step dad are cops and my mom said she looked at his video and she said that she ouldnt tell me but he has done some other things in life! But the girl that turned him in UGHHHHHH!!!!!! i went to her elementary school she was OMG she would lie and hit people and anything to get attention from anyone!!!!! so i know she was lying but idk if he did something else cuz my mom wont tell me!

I have known him about the same length of time you have, so you should know better. My heart breaks for his family, but it breaks for the victim too. She is a young girl. Put yourself in her shoes.

I have not looked at this site since the last time I posted until today and I can't believe people are still being so cruel and saying things about him when they have no idea what they are talking about.Asking stupid questions like "why did he resign his position?" If you were accused of this would you just keep showing up there and asking if you could work? Do you think the school could let him work right now? What is sad is when someone is so good at their job and actually loves their job, but cannot do it because someone tells a lie about them and so many people want so desperately to believe that it is true.I know people do bad things all the time and they should pay for it when they are guilty, but I know for sure that this is not one of those cases. I'm not just someone making guesses about this like so many of you are. People should think before saying things, about how they would feel if it were them in Steve's place, before they say things that can only hurt him and his family.Do you people even have hearts?! I said before that I have known him for appx 20 years. How many of you can say that? If you are so dedicated to proving someone is bad maybe you should go find someone who really is instead of making things up to hurt innocent people. This will be over for this family some day. I used to work with Steve. This is not true. He would NEVER do anything to hurt a child. NO WAY! What a shame. I hope the truth is known soon.

Thanks Chicago Past for revealing some information about him. To the family friend ask him yourself. This person has nothing to gain and I plan on finding out why the school board hired someone who had been accused of this prior. Expungement means it is not on your record anywhere so I plan on bringing this to light myself so schools will not be in the dark about this stuff. I plan on contacting the school board and wsbtv to bring this to light so the truth will come out regardless, so we will see. If he had been arrested prior and found innocent school boards should have access this information. We will see what the truth is. I appreciate Chicago's Past letting us know, she is not the one on trial he is? If he is so innocent, why did he resign from his teaching position. To the family friend, let him coach your daughter but I for one would not let him around mine!

I don't know why his wife is supporting him. All I can think is that she is a good Catholic and would feel guilty leaving her husband. And they have kids. It complicates things for some people (me? I would beat my husband...). I don't know, maybe she feels caught because she didn't go the first time. I can't find anything on the internet either and it is frustrating because I think it is the only way I can open your eyes down there. I am thinking of posting this story to the Daily Herald in the Chicago Suburbs so that maybe people who know of the case can respond.

Please, the only reason I am posting anything is because of that girl. You all are treating her like she is public enemy number 1, but I know his past and you have to ask his family so that this girl does not suffer. I am not writing this for any other reason, there is no reason to do so.

And to all of you adults who are not the least bit concerned that this can be true, wisen up and watch out for your kids. Why would he act out in front of anyone? Use your head.


Lastly, I can't find anything so you will have to ask. You have the right to ask since he had been accused before and your children were in his classes. I can't even find out if he is still in prison there from what I can find on the internet.

When you do find out the truth, apologize to that girl. He would have screwed her up pretty good, but I am sure the community has ruined her childhood.

Your comments are not back by any facts. You claim that the record was expunged because he was found innocent. Did none of your local paper write a story on this. After searching the web nothing has come up with regards to your comments. Shows us your facts or quit spreading more rumors. My child had him for several classes and was also a player on his team. I also had the benefit to help the team practices. We never had one incident. Show us your facts or something that would even give some hint of this.

Since you are so "dead-set" on making him look worse than he already does....why not provide some "facts" that we can all see. For example...dates of accusation in Chicago, news article references, court public records, etc. Then...maybe your input would have some merit. If this is true...then please share! I think we all deserve to know the truth.

The people of Steve's present life do not know him as a predator. Not saying that he is NOT but we find it difficult to believe such a thing as he is NOT that person in which we know. If he is...then he has a great "cover". Secondly, if he was accused in the past of the same thing then how did he get a job as being a teacher? The teacher screenings in Georgia- Cherokee County are very rigorous and we find it difficult to believe that if he was accused of such a horrible thing in the past that he would be currently employeed in such a field. Finally, troubled children will do anything for attention.

Many people would like to show support to this outstanding individual...can anyone provide an update? ie, court, school district anything we can do to show our love and support for the Emanuel's please post info.

Does anyone have any info on when he will be going back to court. I would like to support him. Did he get fired or on administrative leave?

I want to start this out by saying to the person who calls themself Steve's Chicago past. You do not know him better than anyone on this site. I have known him for appx 20 years. He is a wonderful man who loves his wife and kids so much. I care about and respect him, as does my family. It makes me feel so sad to see what he is going through rigt now. I can't believe the media can put his name and information out when this accuation has not even been investigated yet, let alone proven. I could not sleep at night knowing I had done this to another human being. We hear all the time of this kind of thing happening so people immediately think it is always true. In this case I know it is not. But it is destroying a man's life. Imagine this emotional and financial bomb being dropped on your family. Steves family and freinds will be with him to make sure he is ok and that he makes it through the damage that is being done during this time. And yes he looks bad in the picture. I just wish everyone could see a picture of him on a day when the rug has not just been ripped out from under his world. My thoughts, prayers and support are with Steve and his family during this awful time and we will stay with him to make sure he is ok when it is all over.

I go to school with this girl, in the 7th grade she was flashing everybody in gym. She'll do anything to get attention, there's no way on earth this is real.

The Emanuels are an amazing family! We have known them for many years. Great people!!!!! This is something you would NEVER imagine to happen to a family like this. I played for Coach Emanuel in 7th and 8th grade and he was not only and awesome coach, but also a great role model and mentor for me. He is a great man who loves his family, community and students and would never do anything like this. I was in absolute shock when I was told of this accusation and will never believe that it is the truth. He was never anything but honest and respectful to me as a student and player, and I firmly believe he treats all students this way. I know his family and think it's completely unfair that they (and him) have to go through this before the accuser and situation has been thoroughly investigated. I truly believe Coach Emmanuel would never do anything like this; he's innocent.

I hope that when Coach Emanuel is proven innocent all news media print his picture- as professional as he normally looks, bigger and more prominant than they printed it when he was arrested. They need to be ready to proclaim his innocence to the world when this is all over and help him restore his outstanding reputation. Teaching is becoming one of the most dangerous jobs around. One student can accuse you of anything and the world believes it! As a Sunday School teacher I am not allowed to be alone with my students because of Safe Sanctuary Laws and as a scout leader I am not aloud to be alone with the scouts because of two deep leadership ruls. But, as a teacher I am required to supervise 30+ students (PE teachers far more than that) and often stay after school one on one for detention and afternoon tutoring. Everytime I stay afterschool or before school with a student who is being punished for misbehavior I am putting my neck on the line. If one girl can do this to a respected PE teacher, this could happen to any teacher.

I have taught with Steve for many years and I do not believe this story. Everyone at school is sad to see what is happening to him.

I know Steve Emanuel. He coached my daughter when she was in 7th&8th grade. He is an outstanding person, a person of integrity and honesty. He loves his family and loves being a teacher/coach, and would never put that in jeapordy. My daughter was shocked when I called her. "No way Dad, he would never do something like that". I hope this accuser gets investigated thoroughly and the truth will come out.

Being a past student of his i cannot believe this. Coach Emanuel is not that type of person. When i had him for a teacher he was real cool and laid back. This is an outrage which the police should fully investigate.

As a parent of a CMS female student it worries me that this could happen to any child. This being said as her parent and having met this coach as a parent I do not beleive it. My daughter is heart broken someone would destroy this man especially a very unhinged, spiteful and vicious child as the accuser known to the school and its students. She has done her damage regardless of whether it is false or not. The CMS students and parents need to rally for this man!!! The county and the faculty need to be unbiased to protect themselves but we do not. I have also worked with this man as a sub and I support him - as a co worker and again a MOM of a CMS girl. He is innocent until proven guilty which I do no beleive will happen. Our prayers are with Coach and his family who will be effected as much if not more than him. I seriously think that whoever claims this to be true is a moron. Obviously the 13 year old girl doesn't know what child molestation or sexual assault is. I had him for my P.E. coach in the 8th grade, he may have been strict but he was not a child molesting creeper. get it right. stupid girl. this is going to mess up his life so badly but of course nothing will happen to her. he has a family, a wife AND kids, do you really think he needs to touch on a little girl when he has a wife? Steve Emanuel lives in my neighborhood and I can tell you this, he is a fanmily man, a good neighbor and friend and admired by the people who know him through teaching, coaching and being a neighbor. see such a wonderful family and man be dragged through something like this is heartbreaking. I wish the papers would stop reporting this as if it had been proven. Whatever happened to inoccent until proven guilty!

This is a travesty, Steve Emanuel is a good family man and caring teacher, he would not do this and the truth shall set him free If anyone knows the truth I hope they come forward and do the right thing.

If it's a false accusation, it's too late now. His career is ruined, he'll never work in education again just because he was "investigated." His picture is here, on the television, etc... He and his whole family will have to move. He's done and his accuser knew exactly what was going to happen.

I hope he is innocent and hope the press doesn't convict him before a full investigation and trial is done. I know his wife well and hate to see their family have to go through this.

This man is my friend.There is absolutely no way he would ever handle any student inappropriately. This is not true. He is a wonderful teacher, coach and friend.
