Emergency Services Safe in Gwinnett

(WSB Radio) Budgets may be tight in Gwinnett County, but there will be no cuts in emergency medical services.

County commissioners made that decision during their annual retreat in Young Harris.

They did authorize staffers to look at other ways to cut costs, like reducing hours at county parks or closing the county prison.

The current proposed county budget would mean dipping into the reserve fund for over $40 million.

cutting Gwinnett taxes
Why not fire some of the useless constuction workers on the Gwinnett Co. roads. I pass by miles of construction on Five Forks Trickum road and live on that road. All day long I watch five idiots watching one man work. And its not just for a few moments that they are idle, its hours! I wish one politician could explain why it takes that many people to complete this job. My family is in the constuction business, I know it takes a lot of skilled people but they sure do work faster when it is a private company footing the bill vs. this slack goverment!!!

Budget cuts due to lack of funds
Hey....here's an idea. How about returning the 19 millon dollars taken out of the county's reserve to build the Gwinnett Stadium. What a waste of tax payer dollars, and an absolute insult to ALL Gwinnett County tax payers!! Gwinnet County Commissioners and any others involved in the Stadium decision, you should be ashamed of yourselves !!

Gwinnett Commissioners
As a Gwinnett County resident I know a way to cut costs. Commissioners stop having retreats. Make decisions in your offices. I don't want my tax dollars paying for your little getaways, oops I mean retreats.
