Three dead in Metro Atl. Interstate crashes
This first happened on I-75 northbound in Henry County at mile marker 210, near the Locust Grove exit, a Henry County police spokesman said.
Police think the driver of a Chevy Cavalier may have hydroplaned, hit a guard rail, then a pick-up truck around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The driver in the car was killed, while a person in the truck went the hospital with non life-threatening injuries .
The big mess came around 5 a.m. on I-75 southbound in Clayton County. Clayton County police spokeswoman Lt. Rebecca told WSB a car stalled in the second lane near Forrest Parkway causing four more cars to crash.
A fifth car swerved to miss the pileup, but swerved off the road and hit a tree. A passenger in the vehicle was killed. Investigators don't think that crash was weather related.
Around the same time in Gwinnett County, police aren't sure what caused a deadly crash on I-85 northbound near Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee. Police said a silver Ford Mustang crashed into a Black GMC envoy. Gwinnett police Cpl. Illana Spellman said they aren't sure if weather caused that crash either.
