Marijuana Bust in Winder

WINDER, Ga. (AP) A Barrow County man was jailed after deputies seized nearly eighty marijuana seedlings growing in his house.

A Barrow County sheriff's investigator said Thursday the pot was confiscated during a raid Monday at a residence on Ga. Highway 330.

Authorities said the marijuana was worth about $85,000 on the streets.

Investigator Matt Guthas said a tip led drug agents to arrest 55-year-old Lonnie Jones of Statham. He was charged with manufacturing marijuana.

Jones posted bond and was released from custody Thursday.

    An idea had caught on and took. This is the not for profit MJ deals. Where a bunch of folks throw in and nobody pays much. People with jobs, familys, and commit no other "crime". To some it is medicine. And through trial it will only become more evident. So prohbition will either die or kill itself. God Bless.

  • So was he selling??? 3oz could be personal for older man.
    Three onces would bag him maybe $900 and likely not. Likely less. Even the highest grade pot is only $400 an oz after the middleman. That is end retail value. Also half of the seedlings or more would be male and do not form buds. More lies that can ever be covered. Jurys don't convict it anymore than a message will be sent to congress and the pres.

    Marijuana seedlings arent worth anything. Six months from now maybe they would be worth something but saying that 80 seedlings that maybe weighed an ounce is worth 85k is absurd. Legalize it now!
