2 Charged in Water Theft Attempt
(WSB Radio) Two Atlanta men are under arrest, accused of trying to steal water. And in a rather peculiar way.
Police say the pair dug up the sidewalk to try and get to the water.
It happened at Campbellton Road, near Fort McPherson.
Officials with the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management believe the suspects were planning to dig down to a water main, then tap the line to get the water.
What others are saying
- Remember the "Wet Bandits" from Home Alone. Perhaps this is where they got their idea from.
- Through the sidewalk?Yeah, no one will notice that.
Okay, so it is Atlanta; maybe they'd just thing another pothole had opened up, albeit on the sidewalk. Of course, water rates what they are in the city--they're probably on the lookout for water thieves. - Water thievesJustice,
Good data . . . these guys failed math in middle school and dropped out before they got to 10th grade . . . oh yeah, but even if they had stayed in school, it wouldn't have mattered because they would have received a government school education. Consequently, they made a bad business decision. - Water TheftIt's no wonder! Can't say that I blame these two with water rates being what they are.....the only difference between these two and the water company is that the water company gets away with stealing (let's not forget the rate increase due to watering restrictions).
- ???I've got to ask this question.
What were they going to do with
the stolen water. Pressure wash
business, swimming pool, daily
usage? I get 10000 gal for $45.
