(WSB Radio) Two men were killed in two separate overnight shootings in East Atlanta, police said.

An Atlanta police spokesman said Aundre Reynolds, 34, was gunned down around 1 a.m. Sunday at the Forrest Cove apartments at 900 New Town Circle in southeast Atlanta (pictured).

Lt. Keith Meadows with the Atlanta Police department told Ch. 2 action news, Reynolds was shot three times while sitting in his truck. Police think the gunman was in the vehicle when the shots were fired. Robbery appears to be the motive.

Dozens of residents gathered behind crime scene tape as police began to investigate the shooting.

"It appears that it was a relatively large crowd out here," Lt. Meadows said. "We had a number of uniformed officers to work crowd control to try to maintain the crowd."

An hour later, police said a man was shot multiple times outside the Woodland View at 1195 Woodland Ave. in northeast Atlanta. The victim's name has not been released.

Atlanta police have not released information on any possible suspects.

What others are saying

  • Woodland View
Right off Cheshire Bridge Rd it fits into the sleazy side of town. I’ve lived there. The rent is dirt cheap and you get what you pay for. This is just one incident at Woodland View, where the management company allows any breathing person to rent there, even if it means 7-12 people in a one bedroom. Cars have been stole or torched, apartments broken into, drug dealing, prostitution and property vandalism and vagrant haven. Again MILES properties should advertize the truth about their apartments your safer sleeping on the street. The whole neighborhood has gone down really fast.
  • No Worries
Don't worry. The APD detective squad is on the case in their little hats. Mayor Shirley (you know the lady with the giant flower on every outfit she wears) will see to it.

They'll solve these just like they've solved the Georgia Tech student shooting, the Georgia State student shooting, the Grant Park bartender murder, etc. etc. etc.

Inspector Clouseau looks professional next to these clowns. Buy yourself a gun and get a carry permit if you live in Atlanta. The animals have taken over the zoo.
  • WHERE IS JOHN LEWIS' DISDAIN FOR THESE KILLINGS?
It seems that each week, one after another senseless killings!! John Lewis and other politicians like the photo ops of sticking up for a convicted murderer after the fact. WHERE IS HIS LEADERSHIP TO BRING AN END TO THE SORT OF VIOLENCE THAT OCCURS EVERY WEEKEND?? WHERE IS THE VOICE OF JOHN LEWIS?? (...and Hank Johnson!!)
