What others are saying

  • Government Funding
Not only should government not fund fireworks. They should cut out all the pork period.
  • gwinnett fireworks
The baseball stadium that is the cause of this budget shortfall is having fireworks but the taxpayers that paid for it are not! Our county commissioners are incompetent!
  • Fireworks
What's more important police and fire
    protection or entertainment?
  • Fireworks
$115,000 could pay 3 county employees that need jobs to support their famalies. It is a great nation,we appreicate our freedom but being broke is nothing to celebrate.
  • fireworks
I am sure without a shadow of a doubt, a furloughed police officer or fireman, as he or she shakes their head in total disgust, would appreciate a good fireworks show paid for by the county they were just dismissed from. While you watch your county subsidized fireworks show, someone is breaking into your car due to limited police protection, or worse yet, your house is burning down!
  • Probably not.
What the state should do is make fireworks legal again so the state
can reap $$$ millions lost to AL.,
FL.,TN., and SC. The idiots in GA.
state gov. that wrote, voted for,
and passed this "feel good" money
killer years ago should be so proud.
And don't say "we've still got fire
works...". A light stick and a smoke
bomb are not fireworks. The state as
a whole, is dying for ANY extra $$$.
You know what to do, just do it.
And, the other states won't snicker
at us anymore, for being such pansies.
PS: Have spent time searching for the
"GA. fireworks bill" from years ago.
Anyone know who was responsible for it?
