Serial Burglars Hit Spalding
(WSB Radio) Spalding County authorities are asking for the public's help in finding burglars who've been targeting at least five counties in the past week.
Captain Tony Ranieri with the Spalding County Sheriff's Office tells WSB the suspects appear to be becoming more violent.
"The burglaries turned into a theft of a four wheeler and a home invasion in Monroe County," he says.
Ranieri says in all cases, the suspects' vehicle is described as a black Dodge Magnum with possible North Carolina plates.
The descriptions of the suspects, however, have varied.
"In one case we had a black male and a white male," Ranieri says. "We've had a black male and a black female. We've had a white male and a white female and we've had two black males."
Most of the thefts were of electronics and firearms.
Authorities in Henry and Clayton counties have also been called to see if they've had similar burglaries.
