Marion Brooks works as a reporter in Chicago, but worked for WSB-TV while Campbell was mayor.
She reportedly went on several trips with Campbell, including one to Paris. When she takes the stand, she is expected to talk about those trips, and how they were paid for. One allegation is that Campbell received the trip to Paris as a payoff from a city contractor.
Even though she moved to Chicago years ago, there are reports her relationship with Campbell continued. The Chicago Sun-Times reports the two were still seeing each other as recently as 2000.
Brooks, 39, has turned over her records of her personal bank account to federal prosecutors.
Among other witnesses expected to testify this week is an FBI special agent who will summarize the finances of Fred Prewitt. Prewitt's name has surfaced often during the trial as the man to whom contractors say they paid cash to help them score city business. He is said to have been a friend and fundraiser of Mayor Campbell's, sometimes traveling with him on casino excursions.
