(WSB Radio) -- Chapel Hill Police report that two men have been charged with murdering UNC Student Body President and Athens native Eve Carson a week ago.
Early Wednesday morning, 21-year-old Demario James Atwater was taken into custody at a home in the nearby city of Durham. Atwater is believed to be the man seen in a convenience store surveillance photo released by police. Warrants have been served on Atwater charging him with 1st Degree Murder in the death of Eve Carson.
Police are now searching for a second suspect, identified as 17-year-old Lawrence Alvin Lovett, Jr. Police believe Lovett is the driver pictured in the ATM surveillance photos. Lovett is described as B/M, height 5'07", weight 150.
Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515. Lawrence Alvin Lovett Jr. should be considered armed and dangerous.
