McKibben told a standing room only crowd at City Hall that she is being denied access to her office by the police department.
The interim city attorney, Debra Golymbieski, told the Mayor she would be allowed into her office once she signed a letter agreeing to protect city property and city documents.
The two sides have been at odds for nearly a month after McKibben fired Police Chief Willie Rosser. That same day, the city council voted to reinstate him. A judge has been asked to decide which side has the authority to hire and fire city personnel. A date for that hearing has not been set.
Also at Monday night's meeting, Lithonia businessman Jason Lary called for the Mayor's resignation. Lary is the promoter of an annual summer jazz series hosted by the city. He says the concerts are on the brink of cancellation because of the controversy over who's in charge.
During public comment, Lary told McKibben "you are bad for this town." He says the festival's corporate sponsors have agreed to stay on if McKibben resigns.
The Mayor did not respond.
