Crooks Steal $150,000 in Eyeglasses
(WSB Radio) Some smash and grab thieves knew exactly what they were after when they broke into the Pearle Vision Center on Lenox Road.

Atlanta police say the crooks shattered the front door glass, got into the store, and took off with about 400 pair of designer eyeglass frames. The value of the haul? Approximately $150,000.

It happened overnight at the store located in the Across From Lenox shopping center. But that wasn't enough.

Police say the thieves moved over to the nearby Fatburger, on Sidney Marcus, smashing their way in to steal some flat screen televisions. Some of the stolen eyeglass frames were found at the restaurant.

Atlanta police have deployed their "Blue Jean" Task Force, set up to catch the so-called Blue Jean Bandits. The latest crime is similar to smash and grabs pulled off by the Blue Jean bandits. They targeted only the high end merchandise, and shattered the front glass to gain entry.

The manager of the Pearle Vision Center says the stolen frames might soon start showing up on the internet and, if they do, they will be tracked.
