During an investigation at the home, police found dozens of dogs and materials related to dog fighting. Vick's cousin was the subject of the investigation after he was arrested and charged with marijuana possession with intent to sell.

A source also told SI that they were convinced that Vick knew about the dog fighting at the home and was involved in it.

During an interview following this year's NFL draft, Commissioner Roger Goodell said, "I was very clear with Michael. In my mind, that is your responsibility. People living in your house and people on your property is your responsibility. That is not an excuse from my standpoint, and I made that clear to Michael Vick.''

New coach Bobby Petrino told the AJC Wednesday that he and president and general manager Rich McKay have spoken to Vick about the dog fighting allegations but refused to elaborate.
