(WSB Radio) -- DeKalb County Police are now calling the death of a woman a homicide.
Neighbors called police after noticing the garage door at the house had been open for three days. When officers arrived at the home at 3901 Sautee Trail, in Conley, they discovered the woman's body.
The victim was found inside a home on Monday, June 2, 2008 with lacerations to her body. Detectives have determined the woman lived at the location and they are working to confirm her identity.
Detectives do not believe this was a random act and that the victim knew her killer. A possible motive in this case has been established, but will not be released due to the ongoing investigation.
Police have now identified the woman at 31-year-old Tamica Johnson.
What others are saying
- I just found out about my friend today. We met 6 years ago when her fiance' Will was killed. He was a very close friend of mine and when she came here to Philly for the funeral we got close. That was something Will would have wanted. He always talked about her to me and always talked about me to her. She became apart of the family the first day we met. I am sooooo sad my friend is gone. Who could have done this to her? She was so sweet. Her and Will are together now and may they both Rest In Peace!!!! I love you sis!!
- RIPMica was a person with a great and caring personality. She would do what she could for anybody and whoever did this horrible act WILL be dealt with either by God or in the life events that will happen to this creator! Mica, was the light that shined wherever she was I remember us working together @ APAC and how happy she always was....Girl you will be missed and Donna, you and Anthony will be in my prayers for strength!!! So I could not make it home to be with you all during our time of loss but my condolesences are there!!!
- This was a cousin of mine that I never met before. Its sad you have to wait until the death of someone to know them. Thank you for those who left kind words.
- Tamica Johnsonthis is very sad, I met Tamica a year ago and she seemed like a very nice girl! My condolences to her loved ones and I pray that you find justice and peace.
- Tamica JohnsonTamica was a very close friend of mine we were like sisters Im going to miss her very much. We all should learn a lesson from this to be looking our for each other and report anything supcious right away.
- TAMICA JOHNSONR.I.P TAMICA YOU'LL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED. SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY DURING THIS TRAGIC SITUATION. PLEASE PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY DON'T SAY NOTHING
AT ALL.
P.S. WHO EVER DID THIS YOU WILL BE CAUGHT... - IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WE HAVE CALLED NEIGHBORS WHO HAVE LEFT THEIR GARAGE OPEN,LEFT THE LIGHTS ON THEIR CARS ON,
OR CALLED ON ANY OTHER THING OUT OF THE
NORM. THATS CALLED BEING A CONCERNED NEIGHBOR. I WONT COMMENT ON THE OBAMA STATEMENT, I CAN PRETTY MUCH TELL WHAT
KIND OF PERSON MADE IT. - Come on, now days people dont pay attention to that. Most people dont even know their neihbors, let alone pay attention to their garage door. Get real, this is the society today and you people think putting a black president in office will change te world and it will but not for the better.
- RIP TamicaI agree with the ANCHAMLEE - 3 days with a garage door would raise a red flag - but seeing her dog running around all that time too - COME ON!!!! authorities should have been notified way sooner!!!!
- SUSPICIOUS MURDERWHY DID NEIGHBORS WAIT 3 DAYS BEFORE NOTIFYING THE POLICE ? IT SEEMS THAT AFTER I DAY WITH NO CAR IN THE GARAGE
SOMEONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SOMTHING WAS
SUSPICIOUS.
