The Swedish retailer, known for its trendy apparel sold at value-oriented prices, opened its first area store last month at North Point Mall in Alpharetta, and two more stores, at the Mall of Georgia and at Town Center Cobb, are expected to open this fall.
"I haven't been to H&M since I was in London," Lindsey Lord told the Atlanta Journal Constitutuion.
Lord, 20, said she went straight to Atlantic Station to get in line when she got off work at a nearby Starbucks at 9 p.m. Thursday. Still, she found more than a dozen people already queued up.
At 5 a.m., the line already stretched about three-quarters of the way around the large store. Many of those in line slept in sleeping bags and on blankets, while others brought tents for the overnight stay.
What others are saying
- H&M at Atlantic StationMy, my - "highly anticipated store opening". Where are the values in America anymore? And I don't mean saving money on "trendy apparel".
I highly anticipate an end to poverty, peace in Iraq and our brave soldiers home, rain for drought stricken states, less turbulent weather where tornados and floods have taken lives and destroyed homes and businesses, more jobs, cheaper gas, a stable ecomomy and better use of our limited resources.
BUT let the 20 year olds spend their time and money on other important issues of the day. Sad. - H& MDon't these people have better things to do?
- These people are idiotsWaiting in ling for a retail clothing store to open, what a total waste of time. These are the same people who can't understand what they never get ahead financially. The work at Starbucks and wait in line OVERNIGHT to purchase clothes. I wonder how many people in line are in forclosure proceeds on their house...if the own one at all.
