(WSB Radio) -- High winds and lightning from a strong Sunday night thunderstorm damaged two homes in Cherokee County.

A large tree fell on Barbara McAuley's house on Bridge Mill Avenue in Canton. She tells Channel 2 Action News most of the damage was done to the second floor. No one was hurt.

There were no injuries when lightning struck a home on Green Street in Canton. The owners were out of town and the structure was heavily damaged.

Minor damage was also reported in Carroll and Clayton counties. Almost 4,000 Georgia Power customers lost service Sunday night. The lights were back on by Midnight.

WSB meteorologist Charley Sill says there was a positive aspect to the storms as about an inch and a half of rain fell across the Lake Lanier basin.
