I cannot believe you would seriously try to defend those violent sociopathic thugs. I will not rescind my statement. The truth is the truth. All you have to do is look for the baggy sagging pants, the oversized white t-shirts, the penguin walk, the thumping "music," the cars with huge cartoonish wheels, and folks who can't speak proper English but rather babble out ebonics, to see that I'm right. Those kids weren't playing around. Get real! It will be a bad day for those type of kids if that's their idea of playing around, because I have my concealed carry permit ... and I carry my piece, clip fully loaded. They attack me, and like I said, I don't shoot to harm, I shoot to kill to defend my life. You need to open your eyes to reality, and quit defending such reprehensible behavior.

I've been jogging at the SCT for several years now at the start point that passes under Hwy 92. I've always felt relatively safe and notice a patrol nearly every time I'm there. But this is getting sad. I don't know if I'm going to carry my piece just yet, but maybe my 4.5" blade razor sharp knife. But if these kids are carrying guns, I have no choice but to carry mine as well and I won't hesitate to shoot-to-kill if I'm ever assaulted, regardless of their age. And I'm a damn good shot under pressure. Geez, I'm ready to move to Union Hill, AL and get away from this ghetto trash moving into Douglasville and Hiram. It's so sad.

Sure, that's what you need. Everyone walking around with guns. Who care's if some innocent pays the price for an errant round.

Anyone with a CCW who has no training, (I train 8 hours a month, apporx 600-1000 rounds) is a fool. If you have a CCW get training and keep it up. Your life may well depend on it as well as others.

Serious gun owners know what to do and how to do it. As the Son of and brother of x2 of a LEO's, I take this seriously, as a US Army Ranger, I dont play. If I draw my weapon I intend to kill. Assulted; sounds like you need training, but being liberal, you might not be able to handle reality and what goes with it. Stay at home or get real.

These punks will think twice once a few citizens pull a gun on them and it makes the news. The AJC wont print it because it shows gun protection in a good light. The problem with that metropolitan area is that there is no true cohesive governtmental leadership. No continuity from city to suburb to suburb. And a populace that cares more about making statements than actually getting something done.

Another strong example of why the law abiding citizens of this state need to be able to protect themselves! Where were the police? They can't be everywhere so we should take the responsibility to defend and protect ourselves!

I believe there should be cameras placed along the trail. And, Harsh penalties for those that are caught, regardless of how young they are. The juveniles should not be sent home but should have been incarcerated. Where's the tough love? Also, there are so many entry points along the trail for criminals to stalk potential victims. I feel very vulnerable, most of the trail is isolated and hidden from public view which is what makes it great to be outside and then terrifying if you sense danger. Even the more public areas can be isolated at certain times of the day. I noticed a lady taking her bike into the restroom. And I don't blame her. I love to ride my bike on the trail it's really awesome. I will never ride alone there again, I don't feel safe. I finally saw three patrolling policemen yesterday for the first time(my 3rd visit). Where are the safety experts and what is the plan? We've had some VERY unfortunate incidents, let's not have anymore.
