ATLANTA (AP) Officials say a former Home Depot manager has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and tax evasion in a case arising out of a scheme to defraud the Atlanta-based company.
U.S. Attorney David E. Nahmias said Friday that 43-year-old James P. Robinson of Atlanta admitted taking payoffs from Home Depot's foreign suppliers and not reporting or paying taxes on that income.
Another former Home Depot employee, Anthony Tesvich, pleaded guilty last month to similar offenses. Nahmias said Tesvich received millions of dollars in bribes from vendors and passed on hundreds of thousands to Robinson.
Robinson will be sentenced Oct. 14. Sept. 2 is the sentencing date for Tesvich.
