WSB's Veronica Waters reports 58-year-old Ted Roy Williams, a retired construction worker, is facing new charges of enticing a child for indecent purposes and sexual exploitation of a child. He was already being held on a $1 million bond on charges of aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment.
"Last week we seized his computer," Troup County Sheriff Donny Turner tells WSB, "and this week we looked at some discs he had in his possession. They found some children posing naked in some sexual positions, so we charged him with sexual exploitation of a child."
Turner says the second new charge came to light after a call from other authorities.
" LaGrange Police notified us of a case they were working...where he confronted a child about seven or eight months ago at the LaGrange Mall and solicited sexual contact with this 14-year-old [boy]," says Turner.
In last week's case, authorities said Williams convinced the teen to travel to Atlanta after talking with him on myspace.com for about two weeks.
"At some point the mood changed or something happened, and the 17-year-old said that he was threatened, he was sodomized, and he was not allowed to leave the home," said Troup County Sheriff's Lt. Rick Massie.
Williams' bond was upped by $50,000 on each of the new charges, for a total of $1.1 million. Turner says the investigation is ongoing. The GBI now has Williams' computer, and they expect it will take three to four months to completely examine it for other possible evidence.
