| (WSB Radio) -- The City of Alpharetta has been cited for violating the city's watering ban. A police officer wrote city hall for having it's sprinklers running. The officer noticed the sprinklers watering shrubbery three times and eventually issued the city a warning and two citations. City Administrator Robbie Rokovitz says he asked the sprinklers to be shut off after they received a warning but apparently they were not cut off. Four days later the officer noticed the sprinklers were still on. They were finally shut off the following Monday.
But the city will not have to pay the $500 fine. According to Rokovitz, "We're not in the business of paying ourselves."
But citizens hope the embarrassment is payment enough.
