Roswell May Drill for Water
(WSB Radio) -- Roswell is looking for expand it water supply by drilling for potential wells.

The City Council is expected to vote later this month on a plan to spend $125,000 for a survey of potential well locations.

An initial study has determined there are more than two dozen locations for potential wells.

Roswell now pulls water from Big Creek, which feeds into the Chattahoochee River, and also from Fulton County sources. It has state approval to pull about 1.2 million gallons a day.

It's now looking at drilling wells that could pull another three to six million gallons a day, said Mike Leonard, the city's water operations manager.
