Cobb's Big Residential Water User
(WSB Radio) -- Who is the biggest residential water user in Cobb County? Channel Two Action News says the home at 4151 Thunderbird Drive that is owned by Chris George Carlos uses as much water as the average 60 home subdivision.

According to county records, the address used an average of 390,000 gallons of water over the past six months. Last month it was 440,000 gallons.

Neighbor Ken Scott lives across the street from the home. "I think its absurd. I really do. For all the pressure that's on everyone to conserve, I think that's ridiculous."

Kathy Nguyen, Cobb's Water Conservation Officer, fears that even when the county doubles the cost of water for high end users, it may not matter. "A lot of people say that's just the cost of doing business for me..that's it's more important that I use this water than it is I worry about reducing my use."

The home has a commercial water meter that could accommodate a strip mall. Cobb will start charging big water users new rates early next year. Owner Carlos would not talk to Channel 2.
