Switch from Septic to Sewers
(WSB Radio) -- How can we put millions of gallons of water back in Lakes Lanier and Allatoona? Some believe reducing the number of septic tanks in the region is the answer.

WSB's Pete Combs reports from the Village of Waterside, a new development near Lake Allatoona. Unlike their neighbors, the people who live at the Village don't depend on septic tanks. The development is on a new sewer line that stretches all the way to Cartersville.

"In our watershed, about 80 percent of the households are on septic systems."

Ron Papaleoni with the Lake Allatoona Preservation Association says he and other there want to see other sewers built to return more water to Lake Allatoona.
