(WSB Radio) -- The Governor will be facing protestors as he huddles with the Lieutenant Governor and religious leaders to pray for rain.

Members of the Atlanta Freethought Society say the event violates the separation of church and state.

Society President Steve Yothment tells WSB's Rahul Bali, "Government leaders should not be religious leaders. That's where there is a problem. We think history has shown that the co-mingling of religion and government is not a good thing."

The Governor will be joined by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, Representative Melvin Everson, Dr. Gil Watson, Senior Minister of Northside United Methodist Church, Dr. Maurice Watson, Senior Pastor of the Beulahland Bible Church and Dr. Benny Tate, Senior Pastor of the Rock Springs Church.

The vigil is being held on the State Capitol steps Tuesday from 11:45am to 12:30pm.
