(WSB Radio) One man was killed when his car collided with an Amtrak train in Norcross Friday morning. It happened around 8:30 at the train crossing at Langford Parkway near Buford Highway.

Gwinnett Police Sgt. Wayne Thaxton tells WSB's Sandra Parrish the railroad crossing arms and signals were working at the time.

"For whatever reasons the car came around the arms, the arms were down at the time," he says.

The silver, four-door Kia Amanti burst into flames when the train hit it. The car was carrying flyers for a shoe-repair business.

Thaxton says none of the passengers aboard the Crescent were injured. Amtrak officials are investigating.
