| (WSB Radio) -- The drought has claimed another victim: The Sea Scouts. The organization is part of the Boy Scouts and proceeds from the popular Festival of Lights boat parade at Lake Lanier were going to be donated to the organization this year. But this year there will be no parade. Kip Peterson, Commodore of the Atlanta Sea Scouts, tells Channel Two Action News, "Well, it was too dangerous and the corps didn't want to have people out at night. To be honest, I wound;t want to be out at night because you really can't see and there's the odd tree here and there sticking up plus there's new islands every day. It just didn't make sense." The Sea Scouts help kids learn sailing, seamanship and leadership. |
