(WSB Radio) -- Fulton County made the cut when it comes to meeting the Governor's mandated 10 percent cut in water usage. This news as DeKalb County and the City of Atlanta wait to hear if they'll be punished for failing to make the cut.

Fulton is using below 20 million gallons per day with a few hundred thousand gallons to spare. Fulton Public Works Director Angela Parker tells Channel Two Action News, "They are, from our perspective, a success because I'll be honest with you that I did not believe we could achieve the 10 percent."

Parker believes they succeeded in part because Fulton's water system is much newer than Atlanta, with pipes much less likely to leak.
