One person has died in an apartment fire in DeKalb County. Fire Captain Jaeson Daniels tells WSB Radio the fire broke on the second floor of the Oaktree Villa Apartments on Clubhouse Circle around 11 o’clock Sunday morning.

“On arrival, they saw smoke coming from a second story apartment in which they made entry, put out the fire. Soon after putting out the fire, they conducted a search and found a victim inside the home,” said Daniels.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. No word on where the fire started in the apartment or if there were working smoke detectors. When asked if the fire was suspicious, Daniels said it’s too early to tell. No one else was injured.
