Atlanta Gas Light and WSB Radio are calling for nominations for the 2006 Shining Light Award.
Established in 1963, the prestigious Shining Light Award each year recognizes an outstanding Georgian who has inspired the lives of others through community service. The award is an ever-burning old-fashioned gas light.
Past recipients include: Alana Shepherd (2005); the late Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson (2004) former President Jimmy Carter; Ambassador and former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young; entrepreneurs and philanthropists J.B. Fuqua and Truett Cathy; and baseball legend Henry "Hank" Aaron, to name a few.
