Atlanta-based online discounter Scoutmob is set to change its focus and take some jobs with it.
It's moving away from its 50% off deals and moving into more customized offers. Its more profitable Shoppe offshoot offers independently made goods, like jewelry and art.
But the Atlanta Business Chronicle quotes one source as saying Scoutmob's move could mean a 75% cut in the site's local workforce. It would mean the loss of almost 50 jobs.
The periodical says the site still makes a profit. With the help of Shoppe, it took in $5 million dollars last year.
