ATLANTA — Police are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man in northwest Atlanta on Thursday.

Officers responded to 781 Magnolia Way NW where they found a victim with gunshot wounds around 4:09 p.m.

The victim, whose identity was not released by police, was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead, according to Atlanta police.

Police have not said if anyone was in custody or if they are searching for any possible suspects.

The shooting remains under investigation.
